I started studying computer science and then I fell in love with differential equations, control systems, machine learning and energy systems. I like to mix these different skills to develop algorithms, models and softwares to analyze and solve complex problems.
My main research has been focused on the development of models that simulate buildings and energy systems, and I worked on methods that improve the day-to-day operation of buildings with automatic detection of faults and model predictive control. Nowadays I work on machine learning algorithms that will make your homes smarter.
When I'm not behind my desk I like to be outside in the nature, I love climbing and I try to do it as much as I can. When I don't climb I either run or ride my bike over the hills behind my house... In other words I don't like flat terrains and whatever involves swimming is not my thing!
Create and design new things is my passion. It doesn't matter if it's something I can touch with my hands, draw on a sheet of paper, a piece of software that runs on a microcontroller or in the cloud. I love sitting in front of a whiteboard and think how to solve challenging problems. I decided to study computer science engineering because I discovered that writing algorithms to control mechanical systems like robots was fun. Nowadays I'm working as a Software Engineer for Google...
