Marco Bonvini

I started studying computer science and then I fell in love with differential equations, dynamic systems, control systems, mathematical modeling and energy systems. I like to mix these different skills to develop algorithms, models and softwares to simulate and analyze complex systems.

More Info

My main research has been focused on the development of models that simulate buildings and energy systems, and I worked on methods that improve the day-to-day operation of buildings with automatic detection of faults and model predictive control. Nowadays I work on machine learning algorithms that will make your homes smarter.

Personal Interests

When I'm not behind my desk I like to be outside in the nature, I love climbing and I try to do it as much as I can. When I don't climb I either run or ride my bike over the hills behind my house... In other words I don't like flat terrains and whatever involves swimming is not my thing!

Something About Me

Create and design new things is my passion. It doesn't matter if it's something I can touch with my hands, draw on a sheet of paper, or a software that runs on a microcontroller or within a cloud infrastructure. I love sitting in front of a whiteboard and think how to solve challenging problems. I decided to study computer science engineering because I discovered that writing algorithms to control mechanical systems like robots was fun. Nowadays I'm working as a data scientist for a startup called Whisker Labs...
